Man hurt in Bay Shore shooting, official says
Police are investigating a shooting that injured a man in Bay Shore Thursday night.
Suffolk County police said that a 911 call reporting gunshots on Fourth Avenue between Roosevelt and Charles streets was received at 10 p.m. and said that the victim, identified only as an adult male, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg.
An official said the man was transported via ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. The extent of his injury was not immediately known.
Police said Third Squad detectives are investigating but could not immediately provide additional details.
