Man, 38, critical after shooting in North Amityville, police say

A man was critically injured after being shot in the chest Tuesday night in North Amityville, Suffolk police said.
Around 11:15 p.m., a 38-year-old man was sitting in a parked vehicle on Walnut Road when he was struck in the chest by a gunshot. The man, who was not identified by police, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
No further information was available.
