A 34-year-old man is in stable condition after police found him with a gunshot wound to the face Tuesday morning in Syosset, Nassau police said.

Around 11:10 a.m., officers responded to a call for a man in need of medical attention on the 200 block of Underhill Boulevard. Police discovered the victim, whose identity is being withheld, had sustained a gunshot wound to the face.

He was taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said.

Police did not reveal the circumstances related to the shooting or provide other details. They said the investigation is ongoing.
