Police are looking for a man who fired shots into the air outside a bar early Thursday in Miller Place.

The shots fired in the parking lot outside Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub on Route 25A were reported in a 911 call at 2:50 a.m., Suffolk County police. Police said it was not clear how many shots were fired, but said no one was targeted — and said no one was hit by the gunfire. It was not immediately clear what may have precipitated the shots being fired.

Police said that after the gunfire, the alleged shooter fled the scene in a vehicle. No descriptions were provided.
