Shots fired at man on Lakeview road after argument, police say
Police are investigating a shooting that took place during a traffic argument Friday night in Lakeview.
A 19-year-old man, whose name was not released, was driving his 2006 Toyota with two of his friends on Parkside Road in Lakeview at 10:30 p.m. when he was confronted by about five men in a blue Honda, Nassau County police said.
After a brief verbal argument, the suspects drove away east on Beverly Road, police said. However, roughly two minutes later, the suspects' vehicle returned and one of the men stepped out with a gun, firing two shots at the 19-year-old driver as he was standing outside his car. The suspect then got back into the Honda and fled.
One of the shots struck and damaged the window of a 64-year-old woman's 2014 Nissan parked on Parkside Road, police said.
No injuries were reported and there is no further description of the suspects, police said. Police are classifying the shooting as an attempted assault as they investigate.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
