Police are investigating the firing of gunshots Thursday in North Bellport.

Suffolk County police Fifth Precinct officers responded to Taylor Avenue after the ShotSpotter gun detection system notification system went off at 11:51 a.m.

“Investigators determined several rounds were fired outside the location but no people or houses were struck,” a police spokeswoman said in a statement.

Anyone with information is urged to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
