Police are searching for the driver of a silver Toyota Corolla who struck a 55-year-old woman last week in Sound Beach, and then fled the scene.

The incident occurred on Sound Beach Boulevard at about 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Suffolk County police said the woman was injured, but did not release additional information about her injuries.

Police said the vehicle, believed to be a 2014-2017 model year Toyota, suffered right front-side damage — including likely damage to the right-side rear-view mirror — and said it was last seen headed north on Sound Beach Boulevard.

The incident is being investigated by Seventh Precinct Crime Section officers and police said Wednesday that anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or by using a mobile app that can be downloaded through the App Store or through Google Play by searching for the term P3 Tips. Tipsters can also submit online at P3Tips.com.

All calls, texts and emails will remain confidential.

Tipsters are eligible for a cash reward for any information leading to an arrest.
