Southold driver charged with DWI after hitting signs, cops say
A Southold man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after he slammed his car into several street signs and left the scene early Saturday, police said.
Theodore Renshaw, 26, was driving on Route 25 near the American Legion when he hit the signs at about 12:30 a.m., Southold Town police said in a news release. Police said they found the vehicle at Renshaw’s home, where they also located Renshaw, who was intoxicated and placed under arrest.
Renshaw was taken to police headquarters to await arraignment, police said.
