A Brentwood woman was arrested and charged with drunken driving after State Police said she crashed her car into a guardrail exiting the Sagtikos State Parkway late Thursday, escaping the vehicle before it caught fire and burned.

Bridget Tardy, 25, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was treated for neck pain, police said.

She was arrested there — and charged with DWI.

Police said Tardy was driving her Nissan Altima when she exited the southbound parkway at Pine Aire Drive in Brentwood at an high rate of speed, crashing into the guardrail.

The car fire was extinguished by volunteers from the Brentwood Fire Department, Suffolk fire officials said.

Arraignment information was not immediately available.
