Steve Costello of Queens arrested in looting after Oklahoma tornado

A Queens man was arrested in Oklahoma and charged with looting and taking advantage of victims of last month's tornadoes.
Steve Costello, 44, of 89-10 48th Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested June 2, along with two men from Virginia, The Associated Press reported, citing the Oklahoman newspaper in Oklahoma City.
They were arrested after police spotted one of the men Costello was with carrying a "large piece of utility wire in his hand," the AP reported.
The Virginia man claimed he owned a recycling company. Police said that when questioned, Costello and the other man, who was not identified, admitted they drove to Moore, Okla., to loot homes damaged by May 20's deadly tornado.
Costello was charged with one misdemeanor count of looting and has since been released on $10,000 bail, according to Jeremy Lewis, a Moore Police Department spokesman.
