The case of the missing parrot has apparently been solved.
Suffolk County police, who had issued a Crime Stoppers alert seeking the public's help in finding whoever stole a parrot from B.T.J.'s Jungle pet store in West Islip on Monday, said Thursday the incident was determined to be noncriminal.
No other information was immediately available from police.
The pet store had said the Quaker parrot, who goes by the name Sonny, belonged to a private owner who'd brought him in to be groomed.
A manager at the pet store wasn't immediately available to comment on the latest development.
