Suffolk pumps brakes on Saturday's popular vehicle auction because of nor'easter

Bad news, motorheads: The Suffolk County Police Department vehicle auction, scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed due to the nor’easter forecast to hit Long Island this weekend.

But those cruising for a new set of wheels are in luck: A new date will be announced in the future, police said in a statement.

Approximately 80 vehicles, including sedans and SUVs, will be auctioned off at the rescheduled sale, which will be held at the department’s impound facility at 100 Old Country Road in Westhampton.

All vehicles will start with a minimum bid of $500 and are sold as-is.
