A Hempstead man has been indicted in the rape of a juvenile, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Jamal Taylor, 33, of Gladys Avenue, will be arraigned Thursday in Riverhead on an indictment charging him with third-degree rape, the Suffolk County district attorney’s office said.
The indictment stems from Taylor’s “having sexual relations with a juvenile female in Brentwood last month,” Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said in a statement.
Suffolk police arrested Taylor on May 28 after the rape happened on May 24, prosecutors said.
Taylor is being held in Suffolk County jail on $30,000 cash bail.
