Suffolk police: Man shot twice in Wyandanch, survives

A man was hit twice Thursday night in a Wyandanch street shooting, setting off a hunt for the suspect, Suffolk County police said.
The victim underwent surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip and was expected to recover, police said.
He was shot about 9 p.m. on 25th Street, police said.
First Precinct detectives were interviewing witnesses to piece together what happened. Other details were not immediately available Thursday night.
