Suffolk police probe Boy Scout troop’s stolen equipment
Suffolk County police and Crime Stoppers are looking for those who took a Boy Scout troop’s camping equipment from a Ridge storage trailer earlier this month.
Seventh Squad detectives said Monday that the equipment was taken from the storage unit behind the Middle Island Presbyterian Church on Longwood Road, sometime between Oct. 2 and Oct. 10.
A lock was removed and Troop 187 told police that missing items included tents, propane lights and tanks, and cookware.
Anyone with more information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-8477. All information will be kept confidential.
