Suffolk SPCA: Wyandanch woman arrested after dog dies

A Wyandanch woman faces animal cruelty charges, a Suffolk County animal protection group said Monday.

Veleda Bailey, 35, of South 27th Street, is scheduled to appear Jan. 30 at First District Court in Central Islip after the Suffolk County SPCA said it responded to a call from a rescue group.

The agency found one of Bailey’s dogs dead and others severely neglected, according to a news release.

The neglected dogs were taken to a veterinary hospital for evaluation.
