Police are searching for a knife-wielding man who they said robbed a man on a street in Uniondale early Sunday, then fled.

The robbery occurred on Braxton Street at about 2 a.m., Nassau County police said. Police said the 21-year-old male victim was not injured.

Police said the man was outside a house on Braxton, a side street in Uniondale, when the suspect, armed with what appeared to be a kitchen knife, approached him and demanded money.

The suspect, who wore a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a light blue ski mask, then rifled the man’s pockets, stealing his cellphone before fleeing — possibly after getting into a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with information about the robbery is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will remain confidential.
