Nassau County police are searching for two suspects who they say tried to rob a man Friday evening in a Freeport parking lot.

The two men approached the victim, a 27-year-old man, about 7:55 p.m. in Parking Field 11 on Church Street where they attempted to steal his wallet while using “physical force,” according to a news release.

The village parking field is on Church Street between Merrick Road and Pine Street.

The victim put up a struggle and the two suspects fled north on Church Street without taking anything, police said. The victim refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

One suspect was described as a man in his early 20s who was wearing dark clothing, police said. The second suspect was described as a man in his late teens who was wearing a black T-shirt and bluejeans.

Anyone with information is asked by detectives to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
