Franklin Square TD Bank robber fails to get any loot, cops say

Nassau detectives said a man entered the TD Bank branch in Franklin Square and demanded money from a teller, but panicked and left the branch without any loot Wednesday afternoon.
Major Case Bureau detectives said the would-be robber, who was wearing tan pants, an overcoat, a Christmas hat with a visor and a scarf partially covering his face, walked into the branch at 690 Hempstead Tpke. at 3:05 p.m. and asked for money — but left without any.
He ran north on Carl Avenue, police said.
Nine bank employees and three customers were in the branch at the time, police said, adding that no one was injured.
Detectives ask anyone with information about the incident to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
