Teen gets cellphone back after assailant hits her, cops say
Despite being punched and threatened with a stun gun, a 17-year-old woman in Lakeview got her cell phone back from an assailant, police said on Friday.
The teen was walking where Tanglewood Avenue crosses Yale Avenue at 10:15 a.m. when she dropped her cell phone after a man punched her in the face, Nassau police said.
Her attacker picked up her cell phone and began walking away, but the teen followed him, demanding he return it. The man displayed a stun gun, turned it on and threatened to use it, the police statement said.
Yet the girl kept following him onto Lakeview Road, where a 27-year-old woman spotted them, and she began following the man in her car. The victim persuaded her attacker to return her phone; he then fled.
She and her witness got in touch with the police; the teen declined medical assistance, the police said.
Her attacker has a thin male and is 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 11 inches tall; he wore a black hooded sweatshirt.
