Teenager assaulted and robbed in Franklin Square, police say
A teenager walking with someone he thought was a friend was assaulted and robbed by four other teens and the friend in Franklin Square Saturday, Nassau County police said.
Fifth Squad detectives said they are looking for five teens, all between 15 and 18 years old, who stole a backpack and $60 in cash.
The victim, 15, was walking with someone known to him as Herm in Rath Park, at about 9:30 p.m., police said.
The two were approached by four other teens, and as they started to pass them, the four started punching and kicking the victim; the person walking with the victim also joined in, striking him, police said.
After making off with the backpack and the cash, all five suspects fled, police said.
The victim was “uninjured,” according to police. He said two of the suspects wore red bandannas and one wore glasses; he was not able to provide any more details.
