Three teens were arrested in a street robbery late Monday in Riverhead that sent the victim to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The trio was arrested following a K-9 unit search of the area, Riverhead Town police said. One suspect had a loaded gun, police said.

Police said officers responded to a robbery call at Osborne Plaza on Osborne Avenue at 10:05 p.m.

The victim, whose identity was not released, reported “several subjects assaulted him” and then “forcibly removed” cash and credits cards from him, police said.

Police said officers then used a K-9 unit to track the suspects, identified as Gino A. Florian, 17, of Riverhead; Joseph Russo, 17, of Riverhead; and Tavares A. Redd, 16, of Riverhead.

All were charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree criminal trespass. Police said Florian and Redd also were each charged with criminal possession of stolen property.

Florian was found with a loaded gun and was also charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Police said the victim was treated at Peconic Bay Medical Center. The extent of any injuries were not known.

Arraignment details also were not available.

Police said the investigation of the robbery is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call police at 631-727-4500.

All calls will remain confidential.
