A North Bellmore smoke shop sold gummies containing THC, prompting the arrest of two men and the recovery of “a large quantity” of the drug and U.S. currency on Tuesday evening, Nassau police said.

Police conducted an investigation at The Smoking Factory on Newbridge Road around 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Two people, Varun A. Shah, 31, of Westbury, and Pravinkumar A. Patel, 35, of Queens, were charged with felony criminal sale of a controlled substance, which carries a possible seven-year prison term, and criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor with a possible one-year jail sentence.

Shah and Patel are to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead. It was not immediately clear if they were represented by counsel.

New York legalized recreational marijuana last year but has yet to distribute licenses.
