Thomas Boyer, charged with DUI, Timothy Miller, charged with DWI, in head-on crash, cops say

One driver charged with being impaired by drugs and alcohol crashed head-on into another driver charged with drunken driving in Ronkonkoma Sunday morning, police said.
Thomas Boyer, 22, of Bohemia, was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol.
Timothy Miller, 46, of Selden, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
Both drivers were admitted to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries and are to be scheduled for arraignment, Suffolk County police said.
According to police, the collision occurred about 3 a.m. as Boyer drove a 1997 Toyota south on Smithtown Avenue, a quarter mile south of Marconi Avenue, where his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck a 2001 Dodge being driven by Miller.
The investigation into the accident is continuing and both vehicles have been impounded.
