3 men shot outside nightclub in North Patchogue, cops say
Suffolk County police are investigating the shooting of three people at a nightclub in North Patchogue early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened about 2:45 a.m. outside the V.I.P. Lounge at 620 Waverly Ave., according to a police report, but authorities were still trying to piece together the circumstances and other details.
Names of the victims were not released.
Police said a 23-year-old Medford man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment. A a 30-year-old Central Islip man was shot once in the leg and was taken in a private vehicle to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Patchogue, where he was treated and released.
A 19-year-old Medford man also was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to the hospital in a separate private vehicle. He was treated but not expected to be admitted, police said.
A spokeswoman for the Suffolk County Police Department said Sunday’s shooting was the third outside the club since May.
Two weeks ago, another man was shot and injured outside the nightclub. Jesse Durham, 26, of Mastic, was shot in the leg about 4 a.m. Oct. 15 as he was standing outside the club, police said at the time.
