Two Hempstead men were to be arraigned Monday after, police said, they assaulted and robbed a man on the street.

Authorities said Terrence McBride, 19, of Elmont and Savonn M. Dangerfield, 20, of Hempstead followed and then robbed a 24-year-old man who had just gone to an ATM at the corner of Elmont Road and Hempstead Turnpike in Elmont around 2 a.m. Monday.

Police said the two men punched and kicked the 24-year-old then stole two iPhones, a gold chain, a credit card and some cash. The victim suffered swelling to his left eye and face, according to police.

Police also said they later found McBride and Dangerfield near Pelham Street and Louis Avenue in Elmont and arrested them on the spot.

The men were charged with second degree robbery and second degree assault. McBride was also charged with marijuana possession. The two will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead.
