Nassau police arrested two people in connection with the armed robbery of a teenager after meeting him Saturday in Massapequa under the guise of purchasing his iPhone, authorities said.

Peter Libardi, 17, of East Lyons Street in Melville, and a female juvenile, 14, were taken into custody sometime later in Amityville after a traffic stop, police said.

The teenager, 15, had agreed to meet with Libardi at the Field of Dreams sports complex on Old Sunrise Highway in Massapequa, police said. Libardi had contacted the victim to set up the meeting after responding to an ad posted on an online site about the iPhone for sale, police said.

Police said during the meeting at about 1:30 p.m., Libardi examined the phone and asked the teenager to walk with him to get money.

As they walked along a nearby street, Libardi displayed a black handgun in his waistband and fled with the iPhone, police said. The victim gave chase, police said, and Libardi turned and fired multiple shots at the teenager.

Libardi then ran toward the Field of Dreams and climbed into a black 2015 Lincoln Navigator and fled eastbound on Old Sunrise Highway, police said.

Responding officers from the Seventh Precinct eventually located the Navigator and conducted a stop on Broadway in Amityville. Libardi and the juvenile, who was a passenger in the SUV, were arrested without incident, police said.

Both were charged with first- and second-degree robbery, police said, and Libardi faces additional charges of second-degree menacing, first-degree criminal use of a firearm, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Libardi and the juvenile are scheduled for arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
