Suffolk County police are searching for two suspects in a Jeep after an altercation Wednesday night that left two men stabbed in Terryville.

Both victims were transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries,” according to Assistant Police Commissioner Justin Meyers.

The incident began at about 9 p.m., when, police said, the driver of a Jeep slowed and “yelled something” at a man walking along Jayne Boulevard. Police did not disclose what was said, but said the pedestrian ran to the nearby home of a friend — as the driver of the Jeep, and his passenger, exited and attacked him.

Hearing the commotion, police said, two occupants of the home came to the victim’s aid and were stabbed. Neither victim was identified by police.

Additional details were not provided.

Photos of the scene at Jayne Boulevard and Marlboro Drive, a residential area, show evidence markers on the grass and edges of the roadway. Police cordoned off the roadways.

The crime scene is in a residential area that is near a church and the Boys and Girls Club of Suffolk County.
