A Uniondale man faces forgery charges after claiming ownership of card reader encoding machines, credit and debit cards and six computers, Nassau County police said Friday.

Milton Primer, 50, of Front Street, was arrested on Thursday, after fleeing a house that was the target of an investigation by the Nassau County Probation Department, police said.

Probation officers entered the house just after 7 p.m., police said.

Primer, who was not the subject of the investigation, claimed ownership of several items in the house that, in addition to the encoding machines, included gift cards and a credit-card embossing machine.

He picked up a box of several re-encoded cards and attempted to leave the house, police said. Dropping the box, he was able to “escape apprehension and leave,” according to a news release.

First Precinct officers found Primer a short time later, had him identified by probation officers and arrested him, the release said.

He is charged with five counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument and tampering with physical evidence.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police said in their news release they plan to investigate further other property found at the home and that “additional charges will follow.”
