Valley Stream gas station robbed at knifepoint on Christmas Eve, police say
A masked man armed with a kitchen knife robbed a Valley Stream gas station Thursday night, Nassau County police said.
The man, holding a “large kitchen knife” and wearing a black face mask, went to the Ultra gas station on Central Avenue at about 10:44 p.m. and demanded the clerk open the cash registers, police said.
Once the registers were open, the man took an undetermined amount of money before running away toward Milford Lane, according to police.
There were no customers in the gas station’s store at the time, and the clerk was not injured, police said.
The suspect was described as thin and between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall. In addition to the black face mask, he wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, bluejeans, black sneakers and black gloves, according to police.
Anyone with more information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. Callers will be kept anonymous.
