At least 10 vehicles in Deer Park, Dix Hills and Wheatley Heights were damaged in a vandalism spree this week, according to a Suffolk County Police Department spokesperson.

The vandalism happened between Wednesday and Friday. The damage includes smashed windows, broken mirrors and slashed tires, the agency spokesperson told Newsday via email.

Most of the vandalism took place in Deer Park, with damaged vehicles found on West 4thFourth Street, West Ninth Street, West 11th Street, West 12th Street, West 17th Street and Grand Boulevard in that hamlet, police said.

Damaged vehicles were also found on Middlesex Drive and Bristol Court in the hamlets of Dix Hills and Wheatley Heights, respectively, police said.

A police spokesperson would not say whether the department believes one person is responsible for the vandalism, but told Newsday the department is treating the streak of property damage as part of the same incident.

Suffolk police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
