Sixth Squad detectives are trying to determine who defaced a number of vehicles on a street in Farmingville early Wednesday, spray painting them with what Suffolk County police said “appeared to be gang-related markings.”
It was not immediately clear how many vehicles were tagged with the graffiti. Police said the vandalism, which occurred on Locust Avenue, was reported in a 911 call at 3:08 a.m.
Police said the graffiti included a series of initials and gang tags.
It was unclear if police believe vehicles were targeted.
