A West Babylon man was charged with falsely registering numerous vehicles by submitting false information, and with possessing a fraudulent credit card with a name he used as an alias, state police said Friday.

Augustine Kofi-Aduakye Toku, 45, was charged with 10 counts of offering a false instrument for filing, 7 counts of falsifying business records, and criminal possession of a forged instrument. All the charges are felonies, police said.

The arrest followed an investigation by the state police criminal investigations bureau in Valley Stream and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Toku was to be arraigned on the charges in First District Court, Hempstead, police said.
