Wanted: Store robbery; stolen credit cards

Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for two suspects in a robbery at a Lawrence store.

Police say that at 11 p.m. on June 8, two men walked into the Tobacco Road store at 315 Rockaway Tpke., and pulled guns on an employee. They robbed the store of about $5,700, police said.

The first man was described as about 5-foot-10 with a stocky build, possibly with dreadlocks under a New York Yankees cap. He was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, long shorts, black sneakers, a red bandanna that covered his face, and held a black gun in his right hand.

The second man was described as about 5-foot-10 with a thin build. He was wearing black head rag, a yellow and white long-sleeved shirt, long blue pants, a red bandanna that covered his face, and a large medallion around his neck. He held a silver gun in his right hand.

Suffolk police and its Crime Stoppers department are working with the Riverhead police to find a man wanted for using stolen credit cards.

Police say that on Dec. 11, a woman reported to police that someone had broken into her car while it was parked at a location in Baiting Hollow, and stole her pocketbook from inside the vehicle. Credit cards that were said to be in the pocketbook were used later that day at a Gulf gas station at 3417 Rte. 112 in Medford, according to a surveillance video.
