A Wells Fargo Bank in Cedarhurst was robbed at gunpoint Sunday morning, and Nassau County police said they are seeking the public’s help to find the man responsible.

Five employees of the bank, at 464 Central Ave., were on duty at the time, but no one was injured.

Police said in a news release the robbery occurred shortly before 9:15 a.m. when a man with a silver handgun and wearing a black cloth bandana-style over his mouth walked in and demanded money from a teller.

The 21-year-old man gave the robber an unknown amount of money, and the bandit left on foot south on Spruce Street toward Broadway, police said.

Police described the suspect as in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black knit gloves and sneakers.

Detectives said anyone with information on the robbery could call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
