A pedestrian was injured by a hit-and-run driver shortly before midnight on Thursday in Westbury, Nassau County police said.
The collision occurred at Union Avenue and Seaman Court.
The individual was taken to a hospital.
Detectives were trying to locate the motorist, a police spokeswoman said.
