Nassau County police arrested an East Williston teen Friday night after they said he attempted to rob an 85-year-old man.

Police said the man was walking on Orchard Drive when Joseph Bosnack, 17, of Robbins Drive, approached him, displayed a black handgun and demanded money at about 9:20 p.m. in East Williston.

The man told Bosnack he didn’t have any and Bosnack fled, police said. Officers found Bosnack a short time later on Orchard Meadow Drive and arrested him.

Bosnack was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree criminal use of a firearm.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
