Nassau police arrested an Islip Terrace woman early Friday and charged her with driving while intoxicated after they said the car she was operating ran into a bicyclist in Hicksville.

Katrina M. Yevoli, 30, of Carleton Avenue is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday on charges of driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with more than .08 percent alcohol, leaving the scene of an auto accident with injury and third-degree reckless assault.

Police said she struck a 49-year-old bicyclist from behind while traveling east in a 2007 Toyota on Old Country Road at Raymond Street at 5:45 a.m. The victim sustained a broken clavicle and sprained ankle while Yevoli, police said, left the scene and was later stopped by a witness to the incident.

Second Precinct officers said they observed Yevoli assisting the victim when she returned to the scene but they arrested her and charged her with driving while intoxicated after an investigation. The bicyclist was taken to a hospital but no information about his condition was available.

Yevoli is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead. Her attorney could not be reached for comment.
