A woman, sitting in her car at an apartment complex in North Amityville, was injured by gunfire Thursday night when a bullet went through her windshield — striking her in the hand and injuring one of her fingers, Suffolk police said.

The shooting occurred at the Andpress Plaza Apartments on Harrison Avenue at about 8:05 p.m., police said.

The victim, identified only as a 21-year-old woman, was transported to a hospital, where police said she was treated and released. The extent of her injuries was unknown.

Police said there have been no arrests.

The investigation is continuing.
