Woman injured in Mastic Beach after shots fired into home, police say

Suffolk County police are investigating a shooting that injured a woman in Mastic Beach on Thursday night.
At about 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired from the roadway into an occupied house on Woodside Road. When police arrived, they discovered a 28-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to her arm.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. There were no other injuries.
Detectives said they believe the house was targeted.
