Suffolk investigators call for help in 2015 fatal Wyandanch stabbing
More than three years after a fatal stabbing in Wyandanch, Suffolk County police and Crime Stoppers are asking for the public's help to find the killer.
Joyce Benjamin, 50, of Wyandanch, was attacked and left for dead on New Avenue near Mount Avenue on Oct. 14, 2015, at 3:30 a.m., police said. She died on May 30, 2016, in a nursing home where she lay unconscious since the stabbing.
Homicide Squad detectives and Crime Stoppers released a statement and her photo Thursday as part of their efforts to identify and find the person or people responsible.
Relatives told Newsday after her death that they were "looking for answers."
