Man shot in hip in Wyandanch, Suffolk police say

A man was shot Tuesday evening in Wyandanch, Suffolk County police said, but there were few other details.
The 37-year-old man was shot about 8:05 p.m. at Irving Avenue and Jackson Street, police said in a statement early Wednesday.
A police spokesman said later that the man was shot in the hip and was hospitalized in stable condition.
