DOT: Expect lanes closures on Ocean Parkway
To accommodate preventive maintenance work on underpass walls, single travel lanes on Ocean Parkway could be closed for several days and nights at a time, weekends included, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The work, expected to be finished by December, is being conducted in the towns of Babylon, Oyster Bay and Hempstead, the DOT said.
To avoid possible delays, drivers can consider alternate routes, such as the Sunrise Highway or the Southern State Parkway, the DOT said.
