Repairs at a busy intersection will lead to nighttime travel lane closures and restrictions of Route 25B on the border of Herricks and Garden City Park, starting Monday, the state Department of Transportation said.

Originally, the repairs were scheduled for last Thursday and Friday, but weather conditions prompted a change in dates, the agency said.

Lanes of Hillside Avenue, or Route 25B, will be closed or shifted to accommodate construction work at the intersection of Herricks Road, the agency said. The traffic interruptions will be from 10 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Drivers are urged to use alternate routes or expect delays, the agency said.

The lane restrictions are needed to repair and fortify a small deteriorated section of roadway before “the onset of winter weather and thereby protect the tens of thousands of motorists who use this intersection each week,” the agency said.
