Two eastbound lanes of the Southern State Parkway at Route 135 are being closed on weekday nights from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. for two weeks, the state Department of Transporation said.

The southbound ramp from Route 135 to the eastbound lanes of the parkway will also be closed during those hours, DOT said.

The closings, which began Tuesday night, should last about two weeks, the agency said, as work is done on the Route 135 bridge over the parkway, DOT said.

Motorists were urged to use alternate routes such as Sunrise Highway.

Motorists going southbound on Route 135 will be detoured to Routes 105 and 107, then back to Southern State eastbound, DOT said.
