DWI arrest of 3-wheeled pickup driver after collision

The 911 calls reported a white pickup truck was driving erratically on northbound Nicolls Road in Selden.
And, some of the callers told Suffolk County police, the truck had just three wheels.
By the time responding officers located the vehicle Wednesday night, the Ford F150 pickup had been in a three-car collision on eastbound Route 25 in Selden near the intersection of Boyle Road. One person suffered minor injuries, police said.
Officers found that the truck did have just three wheels. They also said the driver was drunk - and arrested him on charges of DWI.
Police have not released the identity of the driver, citing an ongoing investigation in the crash, which occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m.
Investigators are trying to determine whether the 2006 Ford lost the missing wheel in a previous hit-and-run accident Wednesday.
