The driver of a Nissan Sentra was injured in a single vehicle accident about 2:30 a.m. at South Oyster Bay Road and Field Street in Hicksville. The driver went off the road hitting and snapping a tree before crashing into the side of a house. (Feb. 19, 2012) Credit: Paul Mazza

A Bethpage woman was arrested and charged with drunken driving after her car crashed into the front of a house in Hicksville early Sunday morning, Nassau police said.

The 25-year-old woman, who was not identified, was driving alone in a Nissan sedan when it crashed into the front of a home on South Oyster Bay Road about 2:30 a.m., police said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was admitted for treatment of injuries.

Police said the woman was charged with DWI. No one in the home was hurt but there was major damage to the front of the house.

There was no immediate no word on when the woman will be arraigned.
