East Northport driver flown to hospital after car crash

An East Northport man was flown to a hospital Friday night after suffering serious injuries in a car crash in the hamlet, police said.

Michael Preston, 55, struck a guardrail while driving west at 10:05 p.m. on Bellerose Avenue, Suffolk County police said.

Preston, who suffered a leg injury, was flown by police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital in serious condition.

Police said t his 2010 Honda Element was impounded for a safety check and are continuing to investigate the crash.
