A house fire in Farmingdale on Wednesday morning was brought under control in about an hour, with one firefighter sustaining minor injuries, the Nassau County fire marshal's office said.
No one was in the home, at 174 Melville Rd., a classic early 20th century bungalow-style two-story with a low-pitched wide roof and a full-length porch.
No cause was immediately disclosed. About 50 firefighters from nine departments responded to the fire.
