Firefighters put out car fire in Ronkonkoma

Firefighters in Ronkonkoma extinguished a car fire Wednesday night on the north service road of the Long Island Expressway.
Ronkonkoma Fire Department First Assistant Chief Kevin Murray said the incident happened near Exit 61. Firefighters responded to the incident about 6:30 p.m. Murray said it was unclear what caused the fire. The man driving the four-door sedan was unharmed.
